At the STEM Center in the University of Antananarivo, 19 first-year Master 1 level students from the Anthropobiology and Sustainable Development program took part in a hands-on training session in evolutionary biology, where they worked with DNA and RNA sequences to infer phylogenetic trees. Through computational analysis, they explored genetic relationships and evolutionary connections.

This session followed theoretical coursework, allowing students to apply their knowledge in a practical setting. Each participant conducted independent analyses based on the course material, applying computational techniques to explore genetic evolution.

"The STEM Center has given us the opportunity, space and resources to bring biology to life. Applying what we’ve learned in a hands-on way has been a rewarding experience." said Andrianarijaona Valisoa Fytahiana, a first-year student in the program.

With 133 STEM Centers offering hands-on learning across Sub-Sahara, STEMpower is making advanced scientific training more accessible, equipping students with practical skills for their future careers.

The University of Antananarivo STEM Center looks like an incredible initiative for promoting science, technology, engineering, and math among students. Programs like this play a huge role in shaping future innovators and researchers. I remember working on a STEM-related dissertation myself, and due to time constraints, I had to use a Dissertation Writing Service in Manchester. It turned out to be a great support and helped me submit quality work on time.
